It's June tomorrow (how???), so I thought I'd do a round up of some of my favourite things from the month of May!
I've become a little bit obsessed with collecting these Puffin Clothbound Classics - some of my favourite books from childhood wrapped up in the most gorgeous covers. Whoever said not to judge a book by its cover clearly hadn't seen these!
A no-brainer to include, Jordan Samuel Skin Hydrate Facial Serum is in my top three skincare products of all time. Like a refreshing drink of water for the skin, this eliminates any dryness and leaves my face feeling brilliantly hydrated (the name is a bit of a clue...).
I'm almost at the end of my second bottle and have two backups ready to go! I'll do a proper review of this at some point, but until then you can purchase Hydrate here for an excellent $29 for 30ml. Jordan only sells his products from his own website, and this direct to consumer approach keeps the prices ridiculously affordable. Love it!
Next up is the only foundation that I've worn since I bought it: Giorgio Armani Power Fabric. I wear the palest shade of 3 (2 is darker and there's not a shade 1, no logic there) and this offers great coverage and long-lasting wear. I use a damp makeup sponge to apply it and this means I only need a very thin layer to cover up any blemishes and even out my skin tone. You can get it at House of Fraser with 10% off at the moment here, £36 for 30ml.
Shout out to Charl for this one, the Blusher Brush from Charlotte Tilbury. I've needed a new blush brush (gosh is that fun to say out loud) for a while and this is fab! With my pale, pale face it's very easy to go clown-like with blush, but this one applies product beautifully and is (so far) impossible to use heavy-handedly. It's £30 here, but I managed to snag mine for 15% off when John Lewis were having a price match.
Speaking of blush for pale people...
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Blush in Ethereal Glow! I've used this every makeup-day since it arrived and I am in love! It gives a natural, healthy flush to my cheeks and helps me look less like a zombie first thing in the morning. Now I'm just torn as to which Hourglass blush to try next, Luminous Flush and Diffused Heat are strong contenders...
It's £32 here (another one that I picked up with 15% off. God bless discounts).
I've been so excited about the release of Alessandra Steinherr's eponymous lipstick with MAC for months, and it doesn't disappoint! A real 'my lips but better shade', it's a pinky nude in a lustre finish that is just so easy to swipe on and go for every day. I bought backups because I was scared of running out! It's sold out online now, but you might get lucky and find it at a MAC counter near you.
I've kind of sneaked this last favourite in throughout as a background, but I adore my Zara blanket so much! It's soft and snuggly and just perfect. I first saw this back in December for £69.99 (cries), but it's now on sale for £25.99 here, which is much less heart attack-inducing. Phew.
What have your favourite things been this month?
